THE Bellarine Springs retirement village continues to grow, with the sod turned on Stage 5 of the project.
Describing itself as “the premier retirement village on the Bellarine Peninsula”, the village in Drysdale will ultimately offer 245 homes on hectares of gardens and parkland.
Pinnacle Living chief executive officer Geoffrey Reeve said 105 homes had already been built at Bellarine Springs.
He said Stage 5 would add another 15, and half of those were already reserved.
“That should take us through to the end of the year, in terms of welcoming people for Christmas.”
He said Pinnacle Living was building Bellarine Springs itself, with its own staff.
“We’re trying to provide independent, attractively individual homes, in the benefit of a sanctuary like this.
“The homes themselves stack up against any home you’d buy in the broader community – in fact, they’re better – they’re three-bedroom, two-car garage homes, so you’re not living in a compromised home; you’re living fully detached.
“You’ve got your independence and you’ve got the security of a community. People can become engaged and enlivened by the activities they can do with each other. The COVID-19 restrictions have made that tough, but people are itching to get out and about; like everyone in the community is, I suppose.”
Mr Reeve said Pinnacle Living was a tightly-held family business that was run like a family.
“You don’t put rules in place, you actually let the community find its characteristics and manage itself, hence the independence of it.”
He said Stage 5 would lead to about 50 full-time jobs, plus the associated supply chain jobs that would flow from that.
Bellarine Springs says it takes quality, choice and service to a new level with a state-of-the-art community centre, a diverse program of activities and a welcoming community.
The village location offers all medical and shopping facilities, plus golf courses and wineries within easy reach. Anyone interested in buying a home in Stage 5 can phone sales manager Wendy Prascevic on 0455 112 360 or head to bellarinesprings.com.au.
