ART of the Minds’ Her Story event returned on Sunday as women shared their inspiring and uplifting stories.

On May 26, 100 women gathered at the sold-out event in Mount Duneed, as they came together and raised $1,700 for Foundation 61’s new women’s rehabilitation centre.

Justine Martin took the stage as keynote speaker for the evening.

Art of the Minds Vice President Sarah Molnar said they were happy with the event turnout.

“We covered a range of topics, and had some really beautiful moments,” she said.

“You could see the women in the room really connected with the stories and it was a safe space to share.”

Hazel Ray, Grace Terpstra and Elizabeth Riordan entertained the audience with live performances and heartfelt stories.

Ms Molnar highlighted the moment Hazel Ray took to the stage and asked everyone in the room to turn to the person next to them and look into their eyes for the duration of her song.

“Even though people were uncomfortable with it in the beginning, in the end it was a room full of women with tears in their eyes and a lot of people hugging each other, it was really special.”

The Her Story event was an opportunity for Art of the Minds to engage with people about mental health.
