The Geelong Cup was run and won last week, with Prince of Arran storming home by a head in glorious sunny conditions.

The Charlie Fellows-trained horse, jockeyed by Michael Walker, narrowly beat True Self to the finish.

The winning time was the quickest for the Geelong Cup in 14 years.

Prince of Arran finished third in Geelong last year and is a solid chance to make the field for this year’s Melbourne Cup, where Walker will jockey him once more.

Off the track, the 2019 Westfield Geelong Fashions on the Field took place, with four different categories open for the best dressed men and women.

Sondra Tillack was awarded the Skin Hub Lady of the Day, and Dany Archer the Cambridge Clothing Gent of the Day.

Brianna Murphy was the winner of the GT Local Lady of the Day, while Courtney Moore won the Fernwood Ultra Geelong City Millinery of the Day.
