GEELONG’S largest indoor family entertainment centre, Supatramp, is jumping for joy after their big win at last night’s Geelong Business Excellence Awards – walking away with not only the Tourism and Hospitality Award, but also the 2018 Business of the Year.

The Grovedale activity centre was a $4.3 million private investment by locals Neville Wright and former AFL football star David Schwarz. Opening its doors in 2015, Supatramp was the first centre nationally to introduce a variety of activities into one complex – rather than focusing on one main product offering.

After two successful years in business, in 2017 Supatramp opened a second corporate store in Wodonga, with a third store set to open in Hobart later this year. In addition to three corporate stores, Supatramp has also commenced franchising and has recently signed its first franchise store.

“The most exciting aspect of franchising our company, is building our brand on a regional and national basis and providing our customers with our award-winning fun, safe family entertainment,” Mr Wright said.

Safety was always at the forefront of their venture, so prior to their opening Supatramp became founding members of the Australian Trampoline Parks Association, a regulatory body establishing safety standards within the industry. Since opening, Supatramp has maintained one of the highest safety records internationally – something unmatched by their competitors.

As well as providing an exciting family activity for locals and visitors to the region, Supatramp has created a school syllabus which works alongside the Australian Curriculum, runs accredited after-school gymnastics and toddler classes and has found success in their recently released “Quiet Hour” – a regular session that caters to visitors with sensory processing disorders.

Jumping out into the community has always been important to the company, who sponsor various local sporting teams and has donated more than $18,000 in the past 12 months to local clubs and schools through their fundraising package. The business has also donated more than $15,000 worth of vouchers to local organisations, fundraisers and causes.

General manager Mark Fountain believes the real success lies within Supatramp’s people – a team of staff dedicated to providing the Full-On Fun experience promised to each visitor.

“We’re really fortunate to have fantastic staff, many of our casuals are young people in their first job and we’re committed to preparing them for the workforce through mentoring and training. We also have a really passionate senior management team – it’s really like a big family and so this is a huge achievement for all of us.”

Supatramp won the Medium Business award at the 2017 Geelong Business Excellence Awards.

Supatramp is at 174 Torquay Road, Grovedale. Phone 5244 1089 or head to supatramp.com.au.
