UNSUNG heroes of Torquay Surf Lifesaving Club will have their chance in the limelight when they feature in a global television series in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Torquay SLSC will feature in season four of Adventure All Stars – a family show that sends contestants across Australia for authentic adventures as a reward for their fundraising contributions.

Eligible contestants must raise at least $10,000 for a nominated charity to be eligible. Previous contestants have arranged bake sales, tin-rattles, formal dinners and other events to reach the benchmark.

Torquay SLSC president Julian Sweeney said he was excited for the show to shine a spotlight on the club’s volunteers and for the extra fundraising opportunity.

“Adventure All Stars is a great TV show and Torquay Surf Life Saving Club is proud to associate ourselves with a team who aims to reward unsung heroes who support local communities.

“This is an amazing opportunity to reward supporters of the club with an adventure of a lifetime.

“It’s great to have Torquay SLSC as the first Surf Life Saving organisation involved with such an amazing program”.

The surf club has said it will support prospective cast members to reach the benchmark if they contact the club with their fundraising ideas.

Adventure All Stars project manager Tamara Gordon said the show was looking forward to the collaboration.

“We’ve been working with Torquay Surf Life Saving Club behind the scenes for weeks now, and we’re so pleased to announce this partnership as the first participation with a Surf Life Saving Club as part of the adventure that is Adventure All Stars –a partnership that we hope results in some amazing support for a well-deserved charity”.

Producer Charity TV Global has raised more than $9 million for charities since launching in 2005 and is now broadcast in 25 countries to nearly 100 million viewers.

Season three of the Australian program premieres on 7PLUS from today (July 21), with seasons one and two also available on the streaming service.
