Surf Coast eclipse on display in Northern Hemisphere
AN IMMENSELY popular image of last year’s full moon eclipse taken on the Surf Coast by local photographer Craig Crosthwaite has made its way to the other side of the world.
An American primary school teacher discovered the time-lapse image of November’s blood red moon when she was looking online for photos to show one of her astronomy loving first-grade pupils, who was upset he had missed the event due to cloud cover and bedtime.
After explaining the reason for her request to Mr Crosthwaite, he agreed to gift a copy of the image to the boy.
“So glad I could help Wesley out. A little boy in Minnesota now has an image of the lunar eclipse taken on the other side of the world, here in Anglesea, Australia,” Mr Crosthwaite said.
