Surf Coast FC ladies celebrate special day
GEELONG Galaxy’s Laura Spiranovic spoke about what it takes to be a top footballer in the country during Surf Coast Football Club’s (FC) Ladies Day at the weekend.
About 60 players, their parents, and members of the soccer community enjoyed an afternoon of bubbles, finger food, raffles and music during the second annual event at Grant Pavillion on Saturday.
Surf Coast FC president Steve Christou said guest speaker Laura Spiranovic – who also plays for Melbourne Victory – was an absolute credit to Geelong Galaxy and the football community.
Surf Coast Shire councillor Rose Hodge spoke about what is happening in the community, while Helen Tyrikos from Football Federation Victoria spoke about female football in the state.
“Thank you to our special guests for taking the time out to join us on a very important day for our club,” Mr Christou said.
“Also, thank you to all of our sponsors for their wonderful donations.
“Finally a massive thank you to Paula and all of our helpers for making the day an absolute special one.”
