THE community is being encouraged to share their views on the best ways of reducing private vehicle use among patrons attending events at GMHBA Stadium.

The Committee for Geelong’s Leaders for Geelong program has formed a group for the project, which is working with the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust as the trust reviews its Environmental Sustainability Plan.

The group says their project aligns with the region’s priorities about transport and a healthy local community.

“We hope that the project will contribute to reduced emissions in the future and more active and environmentally sustainable ways of accessing the stadium.”

The short online survey asks questions about the existing transport habits of patrons attending the GMHBA Stadium and what alternative solutions are available to those using private vehicles to attend major events such as AFL games, Big Bash League cricket and concerts.

Group members have been out and about promoting the survey, including to footy fans attending the AFL match between the Cats and the Dockers at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday.

Released in mid-June, the survey will close on Thursday, August 10.
