TORQUAY Community House will host a free event next week teaching people ways they can build and renovate their homes to be sustainable.

Sustainable House Design Essentials will see local experts talk on different aspects of eco-effective home design.

Homes with Integrity will offer advice on how new home builders save money on heating, cooling and energy, while helping the environment in the process.

They will also give tips on the different options on the market people have to make their houses sustainable.

F2 Designs’ Tim Adams will then provide insight into how people can renovate their homes to be more environmentally friendly.

Sustainability Victoria, in partnership with Stockland, will also give a presentation on their zero net carbon homes.

The event is part of the Surf Coast Shire’s renewable energy program Powered by Positive.

It will take place on November 21 from 6.30-7.30pm.

To book, head to eventbrite.com.au and search “Sustainable House Design Essentials”.
