Tales of the Sea hits the shores of Torquay Wine Store
A SELL-OUT crowd filled Torquay Wine Store to catch a glimpse of life in the sea through the lens of Torquay-based photographer Tal Lemmens.
The Torquay Wine Store last Thursday kicked off its wine and art intertwined event titled, “The Artist Series”, which showcases local artists and shares their works with the community.
The first in the series, “Tales of the Sea” featured international award-winning ocean and seascape photographer Tal Lemmens.
Tal showcased eleven prints on the evening and talked through each of his photographs and his avid love for the sea.
Torquay Wine Store owner Mick Dowling said based on the success of the night, the venue will continue the event.
“To have 80 people there was just fantastic, it went amazingly and exceeded expectations for sure.
“Hosting Tal was terrific and it was great for him to chat us all through his inspiration for his work.
“His prints are unique and really compliment the look of our venue as well.
“We will definitely be bringing the series back and are in planning for our next one in August..”
The next artist to be featured in “The Artist Series” will be multi-award winning Creative Sand Artist Lowell Hunter, with the date to be announced.
Tal’s work will be exhibited at the Torquay Wine Store throughout June.
The Torquay Wine Store can be found at 19a Gilbert Street in Torquay.
