Two heavyweights of Australian sporting administration joined Kardinia Park Stadium Trust chief executive officer Michael Brown (right) for a “fireside chat” on Tuesday night. The gala fundraiser for Geelong’s first CEO Sleepout, to be held on June 28, featured Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland (centre) and Geelong Cats CEO Brian Cook (left). Mr Sutherland, who recently announced he would step down as Cricket Australia CEO, completely dismissed speculation this week in local media that he would become the Cats’ next CEO. “I’ve already apologised to Brian for that, because I think it’s a load of nonsense.”
