Teens test out the Tornado

December 5, 2017 BY

THE lucky teen from Curlewis selected to be the first to ride the new Tornado water slide at Adventure Park has described it as “thrilling and scary”.

Luke Dickerson, who celebrated his 14th birthday on Saturday, was chosen to be the first to ride the Tornado and shared the experience with his three friends, Will Wells, Will Newling and James Spowart.

Luke’s mum Samantha said the boys were all hyped up during their drive to Adventure Park in the morning and couldn’t stop talking about the big drop.

Luke said he and his three friends rode the water slide about six times during their day at the park, which attracted almost 3,000 people across the weekend.

The Tornado is the only one of its kind in Victoria and riders experience moments of zero gravity weightlessness and intense swings, getting nearly vertical on the massive funnel walls.

Starting 24 metres up, riders twist and turn their way around 205 metres of tight loops before plunging 7.5 storeys into the eye of the Tornado funnel.
