Tigers celebrate Ladies’ Day

THE Torquay Tigers Cricket Club held their Ladies Day at Spring Creek Reserve on Sunday.

People were able to attend early to watch the two women’s twenty20 sides play against each other at the venue, with Torquay Black beating Torquay Gold on the day.

The day offered plenty after the match, too. Olympic bronze medallist Anabelle Smith was the guest speaker. She shared her experience of competing for Australia in diving at multiple Olympic and Commonwealth games.

Local musician Callan Young performed for the crowd, with catering also provided by Café El Nido.

The event was well attended from people both within the club and the wider community.
