Tiger Moth competition winner jumps for joy
THE winner of a Surf Coast Events giveaway has scored a flight for two with Tiger Moth World Torquay.
Paula Simpson said she lived a life of adventure and was ecstatic to find out she’d won.
“I’ve never been up in a Tiger Moth Before. I love adventures and I thought ‘That looks like fun’; it was amazing.
“I wasn’t nervous as I’m a bit of a thrill seeker, I’ve jumped out of planes before.
“My husband doesn’t really like flights, so I sent him first – he absolutely loved it too.”
The vintage open cockpit biplane ride included acrobatics, loops, and rolls, over the Torquay Coastline.
Ms Simpson has been capturing her outings by doing a star jump, with her niece turning the photos into a book for her 50th birthday.
“I decided I’d start doing star jumps about 15 years ago. I thought it was a good way to timeline where we’ve been and what we’ve been doing,” she said.
Along with the adventure flight, lunch and a tour of Bells Beach Brewery was also included in the prize.
“We hadn’t been to Bells Beach Brewery before and they were really friendly, the service was amazing, it was a really great day,” Ms Simpson said.
Cr Paul Barker, said the Surf Coast Shire has many wonderful local businesses and events for people, including concerts, markets, and major sporting events.
“I’ve done a thousand skydives from the same location as where Tiger Moth World Torquay is and know how beautiful the Surf Coast looks from the sky.”
