THERE was cause for celebration on Friday last week as All Aboard disABILITY Support Services held its third annual Tori Awards Night.

Co-founder Kate Marshall said the event continued to grow in size, this time hosting 200 people at All Aboard’s Torquay office to celebrate the achievements of adults with disability in the local community.

“We had a lot of extra volunteers for the night catering and what not, and just running in the show. So, the entertainment was great.

“It was a ton of fun with a couple of jokes, that was excellent. It was really good.

“It’s a massive, massive task for the staff team, it’ll take us a week to recover. We also received heaps of feedback from grateful families and that’s the best part of the event each year.”

The Tori Awards featured a range of performances from participants and staff, from groups such as the See Me Sing choir, Miss Rose’s dance class, and other solo acts.

The silent auction, a first for the awards, was made up of 30 items donated by local businesses and residents and raised almost $5,000 in funds for All Aboard.
