Torquay College Cross Country day
STUDENTS took to the pavement last week for Torquay College’s annual house Cross Country event.
The March 10 race day attracted numerous spectators to Cosy Corner where they cheered on all 618 competitors.
Eight races were run starting from under eights to under thirteens, with boys and girls competing in separate events.
Race lengths varied from two kilometres for nine and 10-year-olds and three kilometres for older competitors who completed two laps of the designated coastal track.
Overall winners on the day were members of the Scammell house scoring a massive 307 points.
Trailing in second place Bancoora scored 321 points, followed by Inverlochie with 223 points and Charlemont with 212 points.
Individual winners included Gus Holmes and Maya Falkbring in the under nines’ event, Declan Farrar and Ellen Batchelor from under tens, Jack Langdon and Ruby Mccumber for under elevens and Kyan Walters and Lindy Baas in under thirteens.
