Torquay Lions pack in the care for those in crisis

March 27, 2018 BY

Salvation Army officers Leah Fernee and Terry Dover accept personal care packs from Torquay Lions vice-president Allen Osman.

TORQUAY Lions Club recently distributed 150 personal care packs to help people in crisis.

The Lions have given the emergency toiletries packs designed for men and women to Torquay Salvoes, Bellbrae Primary School, Lions Village Licola, Spring Creek House and St Luke’s Anglican Church.

The packs are suitable for agencies and organisations in local communities to assist individuals and families who may be in crisis.

More than 15,000 packs have now been distributed by Lions and Rotary Clubs since October 2016, benefitting people in local communities.

The packs are being used in women’s refuges; by older children who may be short of such items when attending school or Lions camps; for individuals seeking help from the Salvation Army in Torquay; and wherever the Lions can fill a need.

The personal care packs are provided free by Torquay Lions Club.
