Torquay RSL seeks sponsors for Anzac Day
THE Torquay RSL Sub-Branch is keen for its Anzac Day Dawn Service to return to the pre-COVID experience, and is in need of sponsorship support to help make it happen.
In previous years, the April 25 event at Point Danger was regularly Victoria’s second-largest dawn service, and the Torquay RSL wants to improve the service in 2024 and beyond based on community feedback.
The success of the Service is a credit to the spirit and generosity of the community and businesses of Torquay and the district.
The Torquay RSL would like to build on this amazing goodwill and is reaching out to individuals and businesses who can assist to ensure the 2024 Anzac Day Dawn Service is bigger and better, in line with community expectations.
The club is run by volunteers who work hard all year round to raise funds for various events, with the Anzac Day service being the largest and most important, particularly as there is so much community support.
Catering for large crowds at the Point Danger site requires significant planning and construction of stages as well as setting up of audio and visual equipment, which is expensive, but considered vital to improve attendees’ experience.
Each year, the Torquay RSL receives much-appreciated support from the Surf Coast Shire, Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority, Rotary Club of Torquay and Lions Club of Torquay, with all groups working closely to ensure the service is held to commemorate those who have served Australia (and those who died) in time of war and in war-like conflicts.
The Torquay RSL is seeking sponsors who can provide funds or in-kind product donations, in return for a range of sponsorship benefits.
Some of these benefits include logo acknowledgement and invitations to Torquay RSL events, acknowledgement in the club’s newsletter, PR, social media posts and website.
The Torquay RSL is also happy to consider other benefits which may be sponsor-specific.
Additionally, any in-kind products that can be provided to assist to put on a gunfire breakfast after the Dawn Service would also be greatly appreciated.
Those interested who can assist can email [email protected] or phone 0416 284 808.
