Torquay spa celebrates Tripadvisor win

SALTAIR Spa Retreat Torquay has been recognised for consistently favourable reviews on the world’s largest travel platform for the second consecutive year, earning itself a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award.

Tripadvisor operates in 40 countries and houses an estimated 1 billion reviews on about 8 million restaurants, hotels, businesses and attractions.

The award, determined based on the quality and quantity of the traveller reviews and ratings a business garners on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period, places the venue among the top 10 per cent of listings around the world.

For Saltair Spa, the recognition follows a string of similar successes, with the business last month named luxury skincare brand Babor’s Australian Spa Partner of the Year.

The company also has a long history of excellent customer reviews, earning Tripadvisor Hall of Fame status in 2018 after maintaining its spot among the website’s top 10 per cent of listings for the five preceding years.

Spa director Tamara Melis said it was amazing for the team to be consistently recognised for its efforts over the years.

“Inspired wellness is what we’re about,” she said.

She said Saltair Spa, which operates in five other locations, prided itself on its exceptional customer service, its unique and extravagant locations, and on creating an extraordinary experience using the best skincare it could find.

 

Torquay-based flight experience provider, Great Ocean Road Paragliding, was also one of this year’s Travellers’ Choice Award recipients.

Flying from some of the best sites along the Surf Coast, including 13th Beach, Bells Beach, Aireys Inlet and Anglesea), the business offers a range of individual and group tandem paragliding flights to people of almost all ages and abilities.

John Boris, Tripadvisor’s chief growth officer, congratulated both businesses on their awards.
