Torquay Toys celebrates first birthday in new location
A YEAR has passed for Torquay Toys on the other side of Gilbert Street with Jill Randall at the helm.
After some reservation as to where to locate, this has proved to be a positive move for Torquay Toys, who would like to thank all of their customers and visitors who have supported this small, local business.
Also, the local childcare and early childhood education providers have discovered this gem of a business for some of their resources. A very encouraging response has been the freely given positive feedback about the quality products available and how their customers love the shop.
Jill and her staff listen and learn from their customer’s feedback and requests. This has helped to develop the extensive range of products.
Increasingly, they are asked for advice as to what to buy for a person of a certain age, and the staff are happy to help.
The gift-wrapping service also helps when families are heading off to a birthday party in a bit of a hurry (no charge, just a donation to a charity of the moment).
In addition, flat pack toys, such as bikes and kitchens are expertly assembled ready to go if required.
Torquay Toys has consolidated its relationship with suppliers during the past year. The suppliers have shown amazing support, as you will see demonstrated by some surprises throughout the day on this Saturday.
Jill is excited to have secured some additional suppliers in her first year, such as Tiger Tribe, a Melbourne company who designs and produces a fantastic range of products.
Some other newbies include the wishbone bikes, UGG Australia, Clemens Bears and Squid Ink art.
Customers are now able to peruse their major stock items in an online store, and click and collect – you can even purchase items that are not available in the shop front store.
The online store has some functional limits at present, but this is being redeveloped as you read this and will be ready to go live very soon – visit torquaytoys.com.au.
In order to keep up with new items as soon as they arrive, you can follow @torquaytoys on Instagram and Facebook, so that you don’t miss out.
As September draws to a close, we all start to plan for Christmas and at Torquay Toys you can place your orders now and layby for Christmas is now open.
Santa’s helpers are booked for two days prior to Christmas to assemble all the toys that are required again this year.
Jill is inviting locals to pop into the shop in Gilbert Street on Saturday September 23, to enjoy the festivities of their first birthday in this location, and have some fun and see what might come their way.
All children are invited to participate in the 3D colouring competition, balloons and cake, and some other surprises await them.
