Torquay’s digital marketing gurus
ANGELA Ward from Torquay-based digital marketing agency KBB Digital says she and her two colleagues Jake Crone and Justine Kelly share an equal passion for helping small businesses.
The team of three relocated their office from Geelong to Torquay in a move to assist the growing number of businesses on the Surf Coast.
Angela and Justine both live in the area, while Jake (who has been with the company since it started) resides in Armstrong Creek.
Specialising in website development, search engine optimisation (SEO), social media management and Google advertising for small to medium sized businesses, the KBB Digital team boast years of combined experience in the space.
“I think that’s our strength as a team. Jake’s got the technical knowledge, and then I bring that marketing, customer focus feel, and I understand branding,” said Angela.
“Justine has that more analytical side to look at change management. We bring that whole package to the table – it’s not just about building a website or doing an ad.
“Our passion equally is that we love helping small business, and digital marketing can be quite cost prohibitive for small business because they don’t all have the budget for it.
“We want to be a part of the community we live in and give back.”
Jake said the landscape of digital marketing has undergone significant changes since the brand was founded, particularly the number of agencies that are now around.
“When we started, I could name maybe five or six digital marketing companies that were notable in Geelong. There’s probably close to 100 now,” he said.
“Everyone in Torquay is so locally focussed. They don’t want to go to a Melbourne company or a big company, they want a small team they can meet face to face and we can offer that.”
Founded by media identity David Koch, KBB Digital has been servicing the community for about eight years.
Justine said what separates KBB from other digital marketing agencies was its personalised approach with clients.
“What we’re really good at is that we like to chat and in the digital marketing space that can be quite hard to get,” she said.
“That’s one our strengths that we’ve all got is that we can have those conversations rather than just emailing back and forth. People like when things are personal, and digital can be very impersonal.”
KBB Digital is located on the upper level of Torquay Merchant (1/28A Baines Crescent, Torquay).
