Tournier seeks interest in pop-up shop on his block
TORQUAY resident Heath Tournier is canvassing interest in someone running a popup shop on his soon-to-be-bulldozed block in the near future.
Mr Tournier’s house in Gilbert Street and car were destroyed in an arson attack on Christmas Eve, 2017, but he has not yet rebuilt the home.
In a post to social media on June 15, he revealed he had “just been given the given the go-ahead after months and months to bulldoze our house”.
“We won’t be building anything on the site for some time so I thought I’d put my feelers out to see if any local small business would like to do a pop up shop on the site anytime soon, over Christmas, over Easter, etc.
“We will have a nice small fence put in and fake grass with power and water on site.”
He said he, his wife Taryn and daughter Coco wanted to thank everyone “who reached out to help us through this tough time”.
“We really do appreciate the support and everything everyone offered to do for us and help us.
“The police have also been very good and an arrest won’t be far away.”
Anyone interested in Mr Tournier’s offer can leave their details on the post on the Surfcoast Community Notice Board page on Facebook – head to facebook.com/groups/surfcoastnoticeboard.
