ALL Aboard DisABILITY Support Services will host a trivia night on July 12 as it raises funds to allow their services to continue.

Held at the Klein’s Anglesea Hotel, the trivia night will be hosted by Rose Hodge and feature a range of games and different categories.

The Surf Coast Charity provides a range of support within the community for those living with disability including day programs, social and recreational activities, camps and more.

All Aboard co-founder Kate Marshall said everyone is welcome to attend their fundraising night with the money raised helping to keep them “ticking over”.

“A lot of people think that because we get funding from the NDIS that it covers our costs, but it doesn’t at all.

“It covers the staff wages, we have 15 staff, and it covers their wages, with only a two to five per cent margin on top of that.

“For all the other everyday expenses we have… the rent, the bills, the equipment we use, the supplies, the tea, the coffee, we have to fundraise for.

“We couldn’t do it without that [NDIS support] so that’s an amazing part of it and it certainly covers the wages of our wonderful staff, but everything else on top, just to maintain our sustainability is through fundraising and donations.”

This will mark the charity’s first trivia night, an idea inspired by Rose Hodge, who offered to host it with Klein’s Anglesea Hotel also jumping on board.

Ms Marshall said she hoped people who headed along for the evening had a lot of fun and laughter.

“We want to lift everybody’s spirits in the cold mid-winter and lots of connections and just doing good for a good cause.

“We’d love people to come along and support us and have some fun.”

Entry to the event is $15, with meals and drinks available for purchase.
