Two teens charged over Corio fire

Two teenagers have been charged following a house fire in Corio late Tuesday night.

Emergency services were called to Bacchus Marsh Road about 11.30pm after flames were seen coming from a bedroom of a residential property.

Police allege the fire was deliberately lit.

Two girls, aged 14 and 15, both from the Greater Geelong area, were located nearby and arrested.

The pair have each been charged with criminal damage by fire, recklessly cause injury and unlawful assault.

They have been summonsed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

Victoria Police confirmed no further details would be released due to the age of those involved.
