Venture to Winchelsea to immerse yourself in the lush surrounds of the beautiful Barwon River. There’s a new pathway loop along the river, part of a bigger council project that will soon include a new pedestrian bridge as well as boardwalk under the iconic bluestone bridge. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a platypus.
After a walk in the crisp winter air, head to one of Winchelsea’s pubs for a hearty meal or a pay a visit to a local eatery.
Café La Hoot, nestled on the banks of the Barwon, is known for its yummy selection of baked goods, meals, snacks and great coffee.
“We have well and truly turned the coffee machine back on and are so excited to be open again,” Café La Hoot manager Jacqui Doyle said.
“Come and enjoy quality food and coffee from our riverside location. If you rug up, you can sit outside and take in the gorgeous views.”
