Venue changes for first Live in the Otways concert

ORGANISERS of this year’s Live in the Otways series have announced that the first event in the series – Chronicles of a Sleepless Moon – will now be performed at the Apollo Bay Mechanics Hall, instead of the Cape Otway Lightstation as originally planned.

The decision was made due to technical difficulties with staging in such a remote location.

The deliciously dark and exquisitely crafted Chronicles of a Sleepless Moon will be performed on Saturday, November 3 (Cup weekend) and is presented by Melbourne’s own purveyors of junkyard theatre Suitcase Royale.

It is a tale of dastardly deeds and unfathomable adventure – a funny, sad and surreal fairytale that has performed to critical acclaim to audiences across the world. The theatrical performance will be followed by the live band Royale Riot, who will finish the evening with a range of bent and broken rockabilly tunes.

The next in the series is William Shakespeare’s classic Twelfth Night on November 17 at the Otway Fly, followed by a performance from former concertmaster of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Wilma Smith and four of her colleagues with a purely classical program titled Ludwig’s Legacy amongst the vines at twilight at Otway Estate on Saturday November 24.

Tickets can be purchased from today for as little as $40 by heading to liveintheotways.com, with further discounts available if tickets to all three performances are purchased as a series. Family tickets are available and children under five years of age are free.
