THE Winchelsea Community Bank Village will finally swing its doors open next weekend to mark the completion of a project years in the making.
A special community event will be held on October 31 to showcase the 10 new purpose-built two-bedrooms homes.
Located at 42 Harding Street, the new housing development offers independent living units for seniors – providing a modern, affordable and community minded option right in the heart of town.
The village represents the shared vision of local people who have wanted to see Winchelsea grow in a way that keeps senior residents connected, comfortable and close to the community they love.
This development was made possible through a strong partnership between Winanglo Inc and Community Bank Winchelsea & District operated by Corangamite Financial Services Ltd.

The Community Bank funded more than $1.5 million of the project through its grants program, while the land was donated by the Surf Coast Shire Council.
Community Bank Surf Coast chair John Knuckey said the institution was incredibly proud of their contribution and to see the development ready to go.
“It’s very exciting… it’s been a massive effort to get it this far to the point of opening.
“The project has been driven by community generosity and has been built to give older residents the opportunity to stay in town.
“Housing is the flavour of the month, and what this does for Winchelsea is lets people sell their exisiting home, move in here, and then their homes are being sold to young couples moving into the area. “It’s got a big outcome for a town like this.”
Proceedings will begin from 12pm onwards.Visitors are invited to tour the Village between 12 noon and 2pm and meet the project team.
