Buses to replace trains from Waurn Ponds station
BUSES will replace trains for all travellers between Waurn Ponds and South Geelong stations for two weeks because of upgrade works at the Waurn Ponds station.
The replacement services will begin this Saturday, November 27 and continue until December 12, and some weekday trains from 5-8am and 5-9pm will also be replaced by buses between the Waurn Ponds and Geelong stations.
Buses from Waurn Ponds and Marshall will depart earlier than the usual train times.
Trains will continue to run between Geelong and Southern Cross in Melbourne.
Coach replacement services will be a mix of express, semi-express and stopping all stations.
V/Line says the temporary timetable aims to provide as much certainty as possible but traffic conditions could be highly variable and coach journey times may change from day to day as a result of traffic conditions.
Test trains and track machinery will run along the line, so travellers are asked to always obey the warning signs at level crossings and stay safe around trains, and to plan ahead and allow a extra 60 minutes for their journey.
There is limited space for bikes on V/Line trains and coach replacement services.
No pets or hot food/liquids are allowed on replacement coaches.
Customers require a valid myki or paper ticket to travel on all V/Line replacement coach services and are asked to touch on and touch off with their myki to ensure they pay the
correct fare.
In Melbourne, coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street.
Customers with accessibility needs should phone 1800 800 007 before travelling.
