A TEAM member at the Woolworths supermarket at The Dunes Village Shopping Centre in Torquay North who initially tested positive to COVID-19 has been reclassified as a false positive.
On 31 August Woolworths Group released a statement alerting the community to the worker’s positive result, but has today said the Barwon Health Contact Tracing Team reported the worker had ultimately tested negative to COVID-19.
The staff member isolated after the result, and Woolworths contacted other employees at the store having them self isolate while providing support as required and in line with advice from the health authorities.
Woolworths also undertook an additional deep clean of the store.
People showing symptoms, however mild, should get tested.
For more advice or to find out where to be tested, phone the 24-hour coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398, find out more (including a testing sites map) at dhhs.vic.gov.au/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19 or phone your local GP.
