Wrestling card gains second title fight ahead of Torquay event

TORQUAY’S next major pro wrestling event is already taking shape, with a second championship bout confirmed for 27 September at Wurdi Baierr Stadium.
Oceania Pro Wrestling (OPW) women’s champion Tarlee will defend her title against Rochelle Rogue, adding another high-stakes clash to a card already anchored by the heavyweight rematch between Edward Dusk and Jesse Love.
The match carries a sharp edge, with tensions between the pair spilling over this year. Rochelle launched a post-match attack on Tarlee in January, following her successful defence against Lil Marz, setting the stage for a grudge match months in the making.
Rochelle made her intentions clear before the contest.
“I have a long history with Tarlee – I do not like her. I don’t particularly like Torquay either, but I do like becoming the new OPW women’s champion,” she said.
Tarlee returned fire with a direct response.
“Game on,” she said. “Torquay is my home away from home and Rochelle can’t beat me and she won’t beat me”.
Both competitors are regarded among the best in the country. Tarlee trained under WWE star Seth Rollins, while Rochelle has emerged as one of the fastest-rising names in Australian women’s wrestling over the past 12 months.
The women’s title fight strengthens an already stacked program, with Dusk chasing redemption in his rematch against Love after January’s controversial loss, where outside interference twice denied him the championship.
Torquay’s Jake Taylor will also feature in a number one contender’s match, with the winner to earn the next shot at the OPW heavyweight title.
OPW says it is expecting a capacity crowd for the September event.
