YOGIS are being invited to discover their inner warrior and then sit back and enjoy a cold one by the beach this weekend.

Blackmans Brewery and Upstate Studios are teaming up to host Yoga by the Beach tomorrow (January 24) at the Torquay Surf Life Saving Club.

A 45-minute Vinyasa yoga class will provide attendees with simple but strong movements which awaken the entire body and focus the mind.

Following the hard work, soak up the summer vibes a little more with a choice of a Blackman’s beer or Coast seltzer by the Blackman’s Surf Beach Bar.

Jess Blackman from Blackmans Brewery said the surf club has the most amazing views, perfect for a yoga session and a drink.

“We thought teaming up with Upstate to bring some yoga into that space was super exciting over summer.

“We’ve been doing a few pilates events in our beer garden over summer and it’s exercising, socialising and catching up with friends all in the same activity. It’s the perfect balance.”

Upstate Studios co-founder and co-chief executive officer Gail Asbell said they were very excited to be collaborating with Blackmans to help bring the movement side to life.

“There’s a real buzz around this one because it brings together so many things we love about summer on the Surf Coast; movement, community, good food and being by the ocean.

“Pairing a yoga session with time to stay, chat and enjoy a drink afterwards really encourages that sense of community, which is something both Upstate and Blackman’s value so strongly.

“More than anything, we hope people leave feeling good – energised, connected and proud of the place they live.”

The event will kick off from 12pm. Arrival is from 11:45am.

Bring your own yoga mat, towel and drink bottle.
