Youth Awards open
THE Surf Coast Shire has announced its second annual Youth Awards, and the council is now taking nominations.
Young people aged 12-25 who live in the shire are eligible.
Nominations can be entered if the young person has demonstrated excellence in one (or more) of Leadership – recognising young people who can be described as inspirational role models, who through their demonstrated leadership empower, motivate and act as exemplary mentors and ambassadors Music – recognising young people who showcase their musical craft in areas such as song writing, composing, playing, singing and producing Arts – recognising young people who have a passion for creative expression in visual and performing arts Sport – recognising young people who can be described as dedicated, committed, successful in their individual or club/team pursuits, and Community Citizenship – recognising young people who have made a valuable contribution that improves and enhances community wellbeing by making a difference in the lives of others.
Nominations close on April 11, and the awards will be presented at a ceremony with live music at Grant Pavilion at 4pm on April 16.
