Another great result for Old Torquay at auction
McCartney Real Estate’s auction of 49 Beach Road Torquay over the weekend confirms that the Torquay market is still strong, and demand continues for properties that are priced accordingly.
Saturday’s auction of this fourbedroom home on 601sqm saw it sold not long after the auction for $1,275,000 to Melbourne-based purchasers.
McCartney director Tim Carson said that the interest in the property had been very good with over 70 people inspecting the property during the five week campaign.
“We went to market with an estimated price range of $1,250,000 to $1,300,000 and to get a result in between that was just great.
“The buyers from Melbourne who were past McCartney clients an had just recently returned back from overseas couldn’t be happier with their purchase.
“The vendors, David and Bev Wilson, are extremely pleased with the result and have sold due to downsizing and are going to live between Torquay and Noosa in Queensland.
“This just proves that the Torquay market hasn’t dropped in price; yes the market has plateaued a little, but if the vendors are patient and ensure that they price their property right at the start, it will sell.”
