Bellarine projects shine bright at Master Builders National Awards
The building and construction fraternity from around Australia gathered in Hobart last week for National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards, with Victorian-based builders excelling.
Eight Master Builders Victoria (MBV) members were awarded prestigious national titles at the awards.
From accolades for excellence in workplace health and safety, renovations and extensions, fit out, high rise apartment building, commercial/industrial construction and a national entertainment and recreation facility award, the Victorian winners’ projects were spread across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
Two Bellarine based projects achieved top honours at the awards. Commercial builders Kane Constructions won the National Commercial/Industrial Construction Award in the $10 million to $20 million category for the impressive Queenscliff Searoad Ferries Terminal Building, and Ballarat based Nicholson Construction, who have had 130 years in the construction business, took out the National Entertainment and Recreation Facility Award for their fantastic build of Boronggook Drysdale Library.
MBV chief executive officer Michaela Lihou said the Victorian industry should be rightly proud of the local companies recognised for their outstanding excellence.
“It’s a tough ask and a wonderful accolade to be awarded a Victorian state title for your work, but then to go on and compete with the best building and construction companies in Australia and come home a winner, is really something else.
“Our warmest congratulations to all the local winners shining a light on the very best work in Victoria.”
Master Builders Australia CEO Denita Wawn praised the outstanding achievements of the winners across all award categories, applauding their talent, innovation, and dedication to excellence.
“Every project and individual recognised is a testament to the resilience and leadership that defines our industry,” Ms Wawn said.
“Master Builders members continue to demonstrate their ability to deliver high-quality projects that set benchmarks for innovation and excellence in the industry.
“These awards celebrate not just the structures and projects but the people behind them – builders, subcontractors, and their teams who go above and beyond to transform communities.”
