Construction of the $14.5 million clubhouse has started at Halcyon Horizon, Stockland’s first land lease development designed for over 55s in the Geelong region.

The all-electric development located in Armstrong Creek will have a clubhouse featuring a Gold Class-style cinema, social alfresco area, pickleball courts, resort-style outdoor pool, indoor swimming pool and spa, and a wellness precinct with a fully equipped gymnasium, sauna and steam room, and beauty salon.

Once complete, Halcyon Horizon will comprise 234 homes with a 7-Star energy rating and 3.9kW solar system as standard.

High speed electric vehicle charging stations will be installed throughout the estate for homeowners to use, and homeowners can also book a shared Tesla car and community bus.

City of Greater Geelong deputy mayor Anthony Aitken joined Stockland and some of Halcyon Horizon’s first homeowners to celebrate the start of construction of the clubhouse earlier this month.

Stockland general manager of Halcyon Victoria James Westh said the start of construction was an important milestone for the development.

“The clubhouse will provide resort quality facilities within walking distance of each home, and we expect it will become a central place for homeowners to connect with new friends, keep fit, or relax.

“As awareness of the Halcyon lifestyle grows, more buyers are interested in the high quality, low maintenance living our communities are renowned for. People want to enjoy a rewarding lifestyle with luxurious facilities that create connected and thriving communities.

“These communities are an attractive option to those over 55 because it can allow them to bank a portion of the equity when they sell the family home. The benefit to the wider housing market is that they are downsizing and are often freeing up that larger home for a family looking to upgrade.”

The clubhouse is being constructed by local Geelong builders Plan Group, and is anticipated for completion in mid-2025, subject to weather conditions and construction progress.
