Custom masterpiece takes out regional builder award

Hamlan Homes and Geelong Homes took out multiple awards over the weekend at the 2022 South West Master Builders Victoria Regional Building Awards with Hamlan Homes named South West Residential Regional Builder of the Year for a stunning Torquay home.

A myriad of other local builders including Pivot, Simonds, Malishev, Signature and Rendine were also recognised.

Master Builders Victoria (MBV) president Mark Little addressed 150 guests and presented the major awards at The Pier in Geelong.

MBV chief executive officer Rebecca Casson said that Hamlan’s clients – who spent years buying, renovating and selling real estate – realised building a custom home was the natural next step to achieving their dream home.

“The result is a striking modern home that overlooks the Torquay Sands golf course,” Ms Casson said.

“This is their dream home where they can enjoy the lifestyle they have always wanted for their young family.”

Ms Casson said the modern facade used a combination of silver top ash cladding, face brickwork, James Hardie Scyon Axon cladding and an aluminium screen to create its striking look.

“The home was built around some non-negotiables for these clients, including tall ceilings, tall benches, windows overlooking the golf course and a three-car garage,” she said.

Rendine Constructions were recognised for Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $3M-$6M for the Lisieux Catholic Primary School project in Torquay which was designed by Minx Architexture.

Meanwhile, Kane Constructions and joint venture partner Nicholson Construction were named South West Commercial Regional Builder of the Year for their work on the impressive Ballarat GovHub.

 

Ms Casson said Development Victoria’s vision was to deliver a contemporary office design with high-quality finishes.

“One of Development Victoria’s objectives was to provide a modern, integrated fit-out to facilitate workplace efficiency,” she said.

“This was achieved by combining open-plan design, creating expansive communal and flexible workspaces and integrating high-level technology, promoting agile working, connection and improved productivity.”

Hamlan Homes will compete in the Victorian Excellence in Housing Awards on October 14 at Palladium Crown in Melbourne.

Kane Constructions-Kane Nicholson Joint Venture will compete in the Victorian Excellence in Construction Awards on August 12 at Palladium, Crown.
