Hayden Real Estate has revived a 60-year-old tradition with the return of its Geelong office.

Glenn and Kylie Hartman have switched their real estate business to the Haydens umbrella, with the change taking effect at the Ryrie Street office from February 1.

The move returns the office to its origins, after Haydens first operated out of the central Geelong office in 1962.

The site briefly transitioned to Ray White after the family took over the business, but Mr Hartman said he was looking forward to the new chapter as part of the Hayden network.

“We bought the business about seven years ago, we traded as Ray White and now we’ve decided to go back to its original roots.

“The benefits are going to be to the consumer. We’ve got everywhere covered from Anglesea and the Surf Coast, across to Ocean Grove and Leopold as well.

“Us joining that network gives us a pretty good stronghold in the region.”

Mr Hartman said the move had been met with a warm reaction from clients in its opening days.

“Comments so far have been really positive. We’ve had many people say to us already that they’d rather support a local independent as opposed to a big franchise,” he said.

“We were a bit concerned that might be some drop-off but it’s actually been quite the opposite.”

Hayden Real Estate director Bryan Hayden said he was pleased to strengthen the business’ Geelong presence after servicing the city from its coastal bases in recent years.

“It’s re-establishing our Geelong market that we’ve been servicing from Torquay and Ocean Grove, by operating out of Ryrie Street with such a powerful real estate backing,” he said.

“We see that as an absolute plus, particularly linking Torquay, Anglesea and Ocean Grove with a strong Geelong base.

“It also enables us to give personal attention. We feel our template for managing real estate agencies is the best and we give personal service.”

Haydens Real Estate is at 86 Ryrie Street, Geelong (corner of Gheringhap Street) and can be reached on 5222 3566.
