Healthy bidding supports great result
SATURDAY’s successful auction of 130 Fischer Street Torquay is a strong indication that the demand for homes in the more established parts of Torquay on larger lots is as strong as ever.
With a reserve of $600,000, the auction opened with a bid of $580,000 as One Agency director Shaun O’Callaghan took a further 40 bids to eventually bring down the hammer at $684,000 to city-based buyers.
With more than 50 people in attendance, the competitive bidding from five strong bidders, who were a mix of buyers from regional Victoria, Melbourne and locals, ensured the great result.
One Agency director Shaun O’Callaghan said that there was a great deal of pre-auction interest in the property with more than 40 inspections and many more enquiries.
“This was a great result for the vendors, and reconfirms the continued buyer demand for centrally located Torquay properties.
“With land sizes getting smaller and smaller in new developments, there is much more interest in properties in the older parts of town on the more traditional size lots.
“If you are considering selling your property, there couldn’t be a better time than now to contact us for an appraisal; we have a healthy number of buyers ready and waiting.”
