A house built in Wye River has helped BCM Homes take the title of Regional Builder of the Year at this year’s Master Builders Victoria (MBV) Excellence in Housing Awards.

Located near the beach on a raised site with panoramic beach and ocean views, Horizon House has four generous bedrooms – the master on first floor and second master on ground floor – expansive shaded balcony, hydronic in slab heating zoned throughout, a garden area, architectural landscaping by award-winning Paal Grant and rooftop garden, a generous games room with state-of-the-art equipment, and a cinema room.

The house was named the Housing Industry Association Western Victoria Home of the Year earlier this year and this award, announced today (Friday, October 13), is the latest plaudit for Ballarat-based builder BCM Homes, which also won the 2023 MBV Western Victoria Regional Builder of the Year.

MBV president Geoff Purcell said the quality of construction at Horizon Beach House was unparalleled.

“One of the standout features of the build was the complex structural design, which required a high degree of precision and skill to achieve the desired outcome.”

“Every aspect of the build reflects the highest standards of craftsmanship.”

Mimosa Homes was another local winner, picking up a Special Commendation in Best Display Home $350,000-$500,000 for its Goldfield 277 house in the Armstrong Mount Duneed estate.
