Links Property founding director Lynne Hayden says that most of us have been touched by the shared experience of breast cancer.

“Personally, I am deeply saddened by the passing of my sister-in-law to breast cancer this year and our team members have also had experience with breast cancer through a family member or dear friend,” Ms Hayden said.

“As an organisation, BCNA survive purely on community donations and corporate partnerships to exist.

“This motivates us to achieve a healthy donation from our annual Paint It Pink! sales campaign.”

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) 2018 Cancer Data estimates in this year alone 19,371 women and 164 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer, an average of 53 people every day.

In 2019, it is estimated that 3,058 women and 32 men will die from breast cancer.

With an ageing population, the number of women diagnosed with breast cancer is expected to continue to increase each year.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in Australian women.

BCNA is the peak national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer and assists women, men and their families through advocacy and free information.

BCNA works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs.

“We hope our efforts can make a small difference for this much needed organisation and its members.”
