McCartney’s auction bonanza
MCCARTNEY Real Estate’s run of auction successes continued last weekend on the back of an exceptional result the weekend before where vacant land at 9 Osprey Court, Torquay sold at auction for $688,000.
With an expected price range of $530,000 to $550,000, the first bid came in at $500,000 kicking off a bidding frenzy of 87 bids between six interested parties to finally see this vacant block of land with Deep Creek Reserve access, knocked down to a Melbourne couple.
Saturday’s auction of 2 Hallis Court, Torquay was also a great success with a young family securing their dream home for $1,180,000.
With more than 50 people in attendance, McCartney auctioneer John McMahon took the first bid at $1,050,000 from a local bidder who then battled it out with another bidder from Torquay to see the property sold to a young family who will make 2 Hallis Court their new family home.
“We had 25 inspections and 39 enquires for this spacious four bedroom family home prior to auction,” Mr McMahon said.
“This was a great result for both the vendor and the new buyers who have a growing family and were looking for a larger property.
“The Torquay market still remains strong, with good enquiry and very healthy results as evident with the latest auction results.
“May has been a very solid month for the company selling 23 properties to date.”
