Nation’s largest residential builder recognised by industry peak body
Metricon continues to lead the industry as the nation’s largest residential builder while also repeatedly being recognised by a peak industry body for their dedication to delivering the best home-building solutions for their customers.
In the recent HIA Western Victoria Regional Housing Awards, Metricon has again been acknowledged for the quality builds that get results for their clients.
This time it was the Highlander 66 in Gisborne that took the gong for the Best Display Home Over $1 million.
The expansive double story, five-bedroom home, fronted by an eye-catching Pindari façade, showcases modern country grandeur.
The Highlander’s soaring ceilings, lavish proportions, and unmatched fixtures and finishes garnered well-deserved praise.
Set against the picturesque Macedon Ranges, the Highlander stands as the flagship double-story design in Metricon’s Acreage Collection and harmonises pastoral charm with refined aesthetics, creating a home with warmth, comfort, and character.
Metricon general manager of regional housing in Victoria Phil Barrett, said Metricon was incredibly proud of the Highlander.
“It really is an absolute show-stopping country luxe home, it showcases contemporary acreage living with just the right amount of opulence and grandeur.
“This award win is a celebration of our great local trades and supplier’s dedication to delivering the best home-building process to our customers.
“The Highlander is a break-through and now award-winning country home set on acreage that has set new standards for volume building design.”
To top this off, Metricon has also been revealed as the nation’s largest residential builder for the eighth consecutive year.
Housing Industry Association (HIA) chief economist Tim Reardon said the HIA’s most recent HIA-COLORBOND Steel Housing 100 Report ranks Australia’s largest 100 residential builders based on the number of homes commenced each year.
“Metricon Homes reported a total of 4,693 new home starts across four states during the 2022-23.
“While Metricon Homes remained on top of this year’s list, the number of homes built was down compared with the last couple of years.
“A drop off in activity was reported by three quarters of the businesses on the list, with the lower numbers reflecting the challenging conditions facing the industry over the last year,” Mr Reardon added.
