Skills session targeted at first home buyers

A new Geelong workshop will aim to provide first home buyers with the skills and confidence to make the leap into the property market.

Real estate advocate Renay McIntyre and mortgage broker Julie Joseph have teamed up for a free information event – the Geleong First Home Buyer Workshop – next weekend, aimed at helping inexperienced buyers get their heads around the purchasing process and home loan qualification.

As part of the program, McIntrye will share her experience as a real estate advocate and provide valuable insight into how to buy a home and what to look out for.

Meanwhile, Joseph’s finance expertise will help future home owners understand their loan options to make better decisions suited to their present and future circumstances, including Q and A sessions.

McIntyre said the workshop was “one of a kind” in Geelong and would fill a gaping market gap to teach prospective homeowners more about the market.

“The reason why most first home buyers are not entering the market is not just about budgetary constraints. A huge factor is they don’t know where to start,” she said.

“There is a serious lack of independent educational resources out there for first home buyers and that’s why I have created this workshop.

“This genre of buyers need the most guidance.

“The purpose of the event is an educational workshop on how to qualify for finance, how to purchase a first home and lots of professional industry insight on how to transact successfully in the real estate residential space.

“Together we can help these buyers get into the market.”

The Geelong First Home Buyers Workshop is at The Space Gallery; 17d Rutland Street, Newtown on October 16. Tickets are free but places are limited.
