Soak up the community this summer
THE strong people focus of Armstrong Mount Duneed continues to reverberate through the housing sector, taking out more industry excellence plaudits for its community focus.
Villawood Properties has just bookended Armstrong’s Best Masterplanned Community prize last year with this year’s Community Engagement Excellence gong at the latest Urban Development Institute of Australia awards.
On top of that, landscape architect Barry Murphy – the man responsible for Armstrong’s intricately connecting parks, trails and playgrounds — was also awarded the UDIA’s Consultant’s Award. Mighty effort, Baz!
The UDIA awards recognise leading-edge community facilities and social structures, which Armstrong has in spades.
Chief of these, of course, is Club Armstrong, the core of the vibrant Armstrong community. People from all walks of life meet there and make friendships through common interests and leisure activities.
The club is instrumental in building a strong, safe and friendly community, both on the ground and online channels. All sorts of activities – sporting, fitness, social, parents – are available.
So too is the district park, Bunjil’s Nest, next door where kids and parents can play and challenge themselves with a first rate adventure park. Play areas, climbing fixtures, a flying fox, tunnels, basketball courts, safeskate areas, table tennis, barbecues, picnic tables – there’s loads to do.
With summer now on us, it’s time to really capitalise also on these and all the other assets in and around Armstrong. These
include 30km of walking and cycling tracks, 24 hectares of parks, sports grounds and green spaces, wetlands, the creek, Folko’s remarkable bird sculptures and, yes, there’s more to discover as you explore Armstrong.
The bottom line: With all of this, and the resort-style club and café, every day is a holiday at Armstrong. Kick back and enjoy!
Oh, and don’t forget, after Santa Claus’ arrival at Armstrong last weekend, Armstrong families will be in full-swing Christmas mode.
If you want to put your vocal cords to work with some beautiful Yuletide singing, the Geelong Carols by Candlelight will be
staged at the stunning Johnstone Park on Christmas Eve from 8pm to 10pm.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas to all at Armstrong from Villawood Properties.
