What’s on at Armstrong: Holiday fun is kids’ stuff

YOU might have seen TV cameras around Armstrong recently. And you might be seeing more of them again soon as well.

Channel 10 was recently filming for Australia By Design, next up will be Channel 9 with its Destination Happiness.

The lifestyle/health/wellbeing show is hosted by local singer-presenter Angie Hilton and will look at the importance of community and of play.

Villawood Properties has worked long and hard to ensure community networks, activities and infrastructure are highly developed at Armstrong Mount Duneed.

Club Armstrong with its numerous facilities – gym, pools, café, kids and parents play areas, group meeting spaces, men’s shed and more – is an award-winning community.

Spread over 2.4 hectares, right next door to Club Armstrong, it has intuitive play areas, tactile and sensory adventure activities such as climbing, a flying fox and tunnels, a basketball half-court, safe-skate area and table tennis facilities.

It’s a great place to really ignite the imagination of kids. It also provides a top space for social opportunities for adults, with barbecues and picnic tables throughout.

Don’t forget to check out the walking/bike tracks around Armstrong while you’re at it these holidays, or the sports grounds to kick the footy or soccer ball or just tear about.

Armstrong Mount Duneed has 18 hectares of dedicated green open space, plus parklands and wetlands to explore, exercise and relax in.

And also make sure you check out sculptor Folko Kooper’s beautiful birdhouses recently installed around the wetlands beside the Surf Coast Highway.

The birdhouses feature internal nesting boxes specific to local species such as rosellas and lorikeets, wood ducks and corellas, Major Mitchell cockatoos, boobook owls.

With more than 60 species of birdlife around
Armstrong, they’re an important addition to the natural community.
