Hop on board for steam trains, celebrations and a good cause

A Day Out With Thomas celebrates the beloved character's 80th anniversary with unlimited rides for families.
With a range of special events and scenic trips, there’s something for everyone this Easter.
A major highlight is the Day Out With Thomas event, celebrating the 80th anniversary of Thomas & Friends.
For decades, Thomas has been a beloved character for children around the world, and this milestone is the perfect time to bring the characters to life.
Families can enjoy unlimited rides with Thomas in the Troublesome Trucks, meet Sir Topham Hatt, Rusty, and Dusty, and even visit Henry’s Driver’s Cab.

This April, will also feature a 1915 Steam Crane, model railway displays, and a U-Drive exhibit for kids. The event promises a day full of fun, with plenty of photo opportunities and a special party pack for children to take home.
The Railway’s annual Good Friday Appeal trips will support The Royal Children’s Hospital.
On Friday, April 18, the railway will run scenic train trips, with proceeds from ticket sales going to the Appeal. Last year, the railway donated $8,000, and with the community’s support, they hope to raise even more in 2025.
The 45-minute return journey departs Queenscliff Station for Lakers Siding and offers a scenic trip that’s contributing to an important cause.

The fun doesn’t stop there, throughout the Easter weekend, the Bellarine Railway has even more special trips planned. Families can hop aboard the Easter Bunny Specials from April 19 to 20, where children will receive a chocolate treat and have the chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny at Lakers Siding.
For a more peaceful experience, the Swan Bay Express on Easter Monday offers a relaxing journey with views of Swan Bay – an ideal way to unwind and soak in the scenery.
As a volunteer-run organisation, the Bellarine Railway offers experiences for all ages. Plan a day at Queenscliff to visit the railway and then explore everything else this charming town has to offer.
