Ablett appearance thrills Winchelsea juniors
JUNIOR Winchelsea footballers had a training session to remember last week, when Geelong football royalty Gary Ablett junior visited the local footy club.
Ablett made an Easter week visit to Eastern Reserve for a skills session and meet and greet with Auskick players aged six to eight last Thursday.
The appearance was part of an initiative from RACV Solar, which provided the club with a solar system including PV panels and battery storage.
RACV is also sponsoring an initiative that ferries local residents without their own means of transport to the club on Thursdays for a meal each week.
The two-time Brownlow Medallist said he enjoyed the visit to support the local club.
“It is especially fantastic to be in Winchelsea and see the young talent in the area and for the club to encourage the kids to get together each week to practice, but also put on a meal for those who need it,” Ablett said.
