GEELONG AMATEUR is one step closer to the BNL decider defeating Ocean Grove in a four-point nail-biter.

Keisha Guilmartin, Jessica Kelly and Darcy McFarlane were named best on court to topple the Grubbers 49-45 in Portarlington, despite a mammoth scoring effort from Rebecca O’Neill (39 goals).

A 20-goal flurry in the first enabled Ammos to boast a 12-goal lead heading into the first break.

Despite a gallant charge in the fourth from Ocean Grove (12-6), the ladies in red came up short as Geelong Amateur rode its initial lead all the way to the end.

The Grubbers eagerly await next week’s opponents as Drysdale and Modewarre clash in tomorrow’s Elimination Final.

Geelong Amateur square off with Torquay next Saturday to determine participant number one in the Bellarine’s netball decider.
