GEELONG Amateur is eagerly awaiting its biggest game of the year so far, according to co-coach Riley Kershaw.
The top-of-the-table Ammos play second-placed Anglesea at Ellimatta Reserve at 2.10pm tomorrow (Saturday, June 7) in Round 9 of the BFL seniors.
The Kangaroos are coming off an emphatic 65-point victory against the in-form Modewarre.
“Arguably, they’re the best side in the comp at the moment,” Kershaw said, noting how hard the Roos were to beat at home.
“It’s a testament to [coach] Jordan [Keras], he’s got them really well drilled and [it’s] a testament to the guys as well.
“They’ve got 22 role players whoever steps in for them. So we’re really aware of that.”
Geelong Amateur defeated Anglesea by 25 points when the sides met in Round 2.

Ammos beat Portarlington 16.13 (109) to 6.11 (47) in round 8 after storming to a 44-2 lead at quarter-time, which was pleasing for the co-coach.
They have only been beaten by Queenscliff this season by six points.
“The main message that we took out of it is that in this league, there’s no room for complacency,” Kershaw said.
“You’ve got to be switched on every week and your B game has got to be strong, otherwise, sides will take advantage of it.
“Hats off to Queenscliff. They’re in red-hot form at the moment as well.
“So I think to be honest, we sort of went in taking the game somewhat lightly and we got exposed.”
The fourth versus fifth battle between Queenscliff and Barwon Heads shapes as another blockbuster this weekend.
