AFTER a busy 18 weeks of netball, the BNL A Grade finals have finally arrived, with the first round to take place at Portarlington Recreation Reserve this weekend.

Geelong Amateur finished on top of the ladder, just three percent above Ocean Grove, meaning they have a week off to reset and prepare for revenge after losing in the Grand Final last year.

Ocean Grove will take on Queenscliff in tomorrow’s (Saturday, August 23) Qualifying Final, with the winner to play the Ammos next weekend. The loser gets a second chance and will face the winner of the elimination final.

The Grubbers won both of their encounters with the Coutas during the home and away season. They won the first matchup by four points in a nailbiter at home, but then cruised to a 32-point win seven weeks later.

However, the Coutas come into the final in red hot form, looking to make it six wins in a row.

Torquay and Newcomb will face off in an elimination final for the second year in a row this Sunday, August 24. In 2024, the Tigers prevailed by 13 points over the Power, while the record was split 1-1 this home and away season.

The Tigers dropped their past three games heading into finals, whilst Newcomb had won two of their past three.
